Planting Seeds for Future Generations
Recently, the Citycare Property team that look after Open Space Maintenance for the South Wairarapa District Council partnered with Martinborough Kindergarten to teach tamariki about the vital role of planting and caring for our environment.
Our team of Rob, Neil, Rich, and Sarah, led a hands-on experience, planting around 100 natives, including cherished New Zealand grasses and shrubs. Martinborough Kindergarten expressed their gratitude, noting how rewarding the day was for everyone involved:
"Your support and guidance made a big difference, helping our tamariki feel confident and proud as they planted the trees. We hope these moments will stay with them as they grow, and that one day, when they return to see the trees standing tall, they will feel a sense of ownership and responsibility for caring for the environment."
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who contributed to this initiative and made it possible.
