People and their safety are at the heart of everything we do.
At Citycare Property, we are a risk-focused company, emphasising a deep understanding and control over the factors that pose the most significant threats to our team - our critical risks. This helps us ensure that everyone in our business is focussed on protecting themselves and others from harm.
We place a strong emphasis on developing leaders within our business to cultivate a culture of fairness and safety. We foster a no-blame culture where all kaimahi feel safe to report incidents and share insights. By learning from these events, we aim to prevent future harm and continuously improve our safety practices.
Safety Initiatives
We constantly evolve our processes to ensure our kaimahi return home safe every day. Our kaimahi play a crucial role in identifying and assessing the critical risks we face, which vary due to the diverse nature of our work.
These include:
- Working at height
- Confined space entries
- Live traffic
- Live electricity
- Mobile plant operations
- On-road driving
Our focus is to ensure our kaimahi understand, implement, and adhere to safety procedures - particularly in high-risk environments.
Health and Wellbeing
Recognising the vital role of health and wellbeing in our overall safety, we offer comprehensive physical health programs, including annual health and skin checks, and flu vaccinations for all of our kaimahi. We recognise the importance of empowering our kaimahi with the tools they need to care for themselves and their colleagues by offering mental health awareness and support programs through our wellbeing partners Mates in Construction and EAP Services. We also encourage our kaimahi to get involved in physical activity challenges, such as the annual 'Move for Movember' challenge to raise funds for Men's Health.
Continuous Improvement and Feedback
We understand that the best insights often come from those on the front lines. Therefore, we have established numerous channels for staff feedback, including specific workshop groups, regular toolbox talks, health and safety committees, and health and safety representatives. These avenues allow us to identify and implement improvements in our work processes.
Through our unwavering commitment to health and safety, we strive to maintain a safe, supportive, and proactive work environment for all.
