New Build Underway at Linwood Avenue School in Christchurch
Citycare Property is currently working on a new build at Linwood Avenue School in Christchurch. Stage one of this two stage project was completed in December 2019 and comprises four teaching spaces and a high dependency unit. Stage two, which includes refurbishment of an existing weatherboard classroom block and construction of a multipurpose building, is scheduled for completion in June 2020. When both stages of the build are complete, Citycare will have been on site for 13 months.
The team was chosen for the project because of their significant experience in constructing multiple classroom units within a “live” school environment. The Health & Safety requirements associated with a build of this nature are comprehensive.
One aspect that the team is particularly proud of is the installation work completed on the imported Trespa prefinished external cladding. Trespa is High Pressure Laminate that turns wood based fibres and resins into a high impact, external cladding, perfect for a school environment.
Overall the project demonstrates the extensive project management skills of the team to enable school activities to continue with minimum disruption and within strict time constraints.
