Koha Corners

Our Koha Corners are helping communities in South Auckland and te taiao. 

Since September last year, Citycare Property’s Community Partnership Lead, Jody Deer, has launched an inspiring initiative that benefits both South Auckland communities and te taiao (the natural environment).

The idea was sparked as spring arrived and our teams began their annual home spring cleaning, discovering many items still in good condition that could be enjoyed and repurposed by others. Jody established our Koha Corner at the Drury and East Tamaki depots.

Since then, the team has contributed to the Sharing Shed in Ōtara, Whaanau Resource Centre in Pukekohe, and Kaha Wāhine Kōtahitanga in Papakura. Carloads of second-hand clothes, toys, and household items in excellent condition have been donated, gratefully received, and kept out of landfill.

As Jody says, Manaaki tangata, tiaki whenua. Care for people, protect the land.
