Citycare Property’s Angela Yannakis Celebrated in Women’s Leadership Programme

We’re very proud of our Delivery Manager Angela Yannakis, whose story has been celebrated by Te Puna Manawa, the Women’s Leadership Development Programme of Christchurch City Holdings Ltd (CCHL).

Of her inclusion and participation in the Programme, Angela says “I thrive when I empower the people that work with me, giving them the confidence to shine and be acknowledged.”

In her role as the Delivery Manager – Christchurch International Airport Ltd (CIAL) for Citycare Property, Angela oversees all aspects of the CIAL contract delivery, from facilities and grounds maintenance to capital projects.

For Angela, no two days are the same, “facilities management is not for the faint hearted, it requires fast-thinking, trouble- shooting and good communication”.

Angela’s strengths are being able to talk to people and problem-solve. “I believe that if you be authentically yourself and play to your strengths, you are capable of more than you think”.

Through her role, Angela has developed resilience and confidence, and learnt to back herself. Working with an empowering leader within a company that is passionate about what they do, has been a rewarding experience for her.

Angela works hard to encourage women into the facilities management industry and supports them to have successful careers. She believes that creating those opportunities for women requires improved visibility, support, and flexibility for maternity leave. “The knowledge that you can return to work and still retain your career level is important. Having an agreed back-to-work plan is vital”.
