Citycare Property kicks-off Whangārei Parks and Gardens contract

Monday, 1 August marks the exciting start of Citycare Property’s five-year Parks and Gardens Maintenance Contract with Whangārei District Council (WDC). The contract includes the ongoing management of more than 300 hectares of parks across the district.

The WDC awarded the contract back in February. On appointing Citycare Property to the contract, WDC Manager Parks & Recreation, Sue Hodge says: “Councillors saw this decision as a ‘step change’ for Whangārei District and were excited to work with a CCTO they considered had similar values to a Council organisation.”

Over the past six months Citycare Property has been busy securing the right people, plant and facilities to ensure the contract is carried out to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. An integral part of that work included upskilling our core contract team who were sent to the Auckland and Waikato branches for their inductions. This onboarding process has given them the opportunity to become familiar with Citycare Property’s innovative software platform, operations and health and safety culture.

The Citycare Property Whangārei team, in the Town Basin, are anticipating great things as they begin the Parks and Gardens Maintenance Contract today.
