The Christmas decorations at Christchurch Airport are always a bit of a talking point for visitors to the city. This year, Citycare Property adorned several large Christmas trees, both inside and outside the terminal, and put up more than 45 metres of Christmas garland.
Decorating takes two days and a lot of planning and coordination. We worked with the Airport Fire Service to fill up eight x 1,000 litre containers to weight the trees in the outside plaza, and a team of eight trained ‘fluffers’ who professionally fluff Christmas trees and hang decorations … and it takes two riggers to assemble the trees.
The decorations will be up until the start of January for you to enjoy at Australasia’s best airport (officially!)
Monday, 1 August marks the exciting start of Citycare Property’s five-year Parks and Gardens Maintenance Contract with Whangārei District Council (WDC). The contract includes the ongoing management of more than 300 hectares of parks across the district. The WDC awarded the contract back in February.
On Monday, 25 July, Citycare Property joined four other council contractors in partnering with Christchurch City Council to operate a battery electric specialist truck within their businesses — part of a broader project by council to help it achieve its goal of halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
